will a 2002 gti 1.8t ecu work w/ a 2002 beetle 1.8t?

Default will a 2002 gti 1.8t ecu work w/ a 2002 beetle 1.8t?
I recently wrecked my 2002 gti 1.8t 5spd. my wife has a 2002 beetle 1.8t and was wondering if could put the gti ecu in the beetle. this may be a stupid question. I noticed that the fuel injectors and pressure regulator are the same part number. thanks

I don't see why not if the connectors are exactly the same. If the connectors aren't the same then I'd say no.
