We bought a very nice drop top Bug a month ago and love it....I'm shocked how solid the present day V-Dubs are compared to the 60-70's model I grew up in and drove through High School....

Here's the problem....Whenever we fill it up we get a strong petrol smell in the car, And parked in the garage...It's VERY STRONG....But when the level get's to a 1/2 tank it vanishes...So we started just putting in a half tank when it needed gas and no vapor smell at all....There are no visible leaks along the fuel lines or around the injector's or rail.....Is there a seam around the tank 1/2 way up? Or is there a charcoal canister somewhere that needs servicing/replacing? Any tips on this will be greatly appreciated.....
