Hi. I'm currently looking into buying an old Beetle. A sudden want of one came after I saw my friends uncle old Beetle which looks like new(can't say much of its damaged motor). So currently I'm in Peru with some family, and hav been researching it, the cost of an old VW Beetle is under $1000 in decent shape.

Well heres my question, would it be better to import one of these VWs i can buy into the US, in terms of cost(i plan on fixing alot of it here since it would be alot cheaper)? Or rather buy one in the US?
