Default Clunking sounds from driver side rear tire

I have a 1968 bug with a bugatti fiberglass kit on it. When driving at any speed the driverside rear tire clunks. The clunk sppeds up as the car speeds up so i thought it might be the bearing but I took a look and the bearing looks fine. Any suggestions of where to look next???

No one replied prolly cause they don't know about '68 bugs. I know less than zero about '68 bugs, but a front end noise has something to do with the suspension. You checked the wheel bearings right? Becuase these cars are rear motor/rear drive, there maybe an axle going bad or something. Other than that, I don't know I'd have to look into it and do some research.

Oh, come on bagel, several of us know about the old bugs, there are just some problems that elude us!

Mine does the same thing, but on all four corners. I'm still searching...

how did you pull the bearing without pulling the axle tube?
or did you just look at the bearing
they dont go bad that often on swing axle trans
possibly a drum starting to stripout

Sorry i have been helping other people didnt see your topic untill today
