Default accelerator cable

Hi all,

I need some help with a 71ish beetle I'm trying to reassemble. I suspect the accelerator cable is either snapped or dislodged but I can't figure out where on the pedal cluster it attaches (moving the pedal creates a clunking sound in the common tube the pedals use but I can't see an attachment point for new cable). Internet searches turn up pictures of clusters that don't look like this one. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

found it. On the other side of the tunnel under a little cover.

What type of grease is ok for the new cable though? I have some molybdenum grease here. Would that be appropriate?
