Default 74 superbetlle
my 74 betle jumps out of reverse every time I try to back up. Can the shift linkage be adjusted to correct this or should I pull the transaxle. Is the problem internal?

Default you should make a diagnostic tool
may be you should make a diagnostic and you can do it in a garage or you can do it by yourself if you want to do it by yourself you need some tools and you can find some good ones here.
