Hi everyone!

I am new to the site and I plan on restoring a 69 bug here soon. I was wondering how hard it would be to fix it up?

I know the engine is different and I am only used to working on American cars, mainly Fords. Is it harder to find pieces for the beetle?

I am curious here and would like to know what I am getting into before I get my hands into a project, and I would appreciate any suggestions.

Fear not, but jump in both feet first armed with a good repair manual, lots of WD-40, and a good set of metric tools. I too am working on my first Bug, a '70 which has been sitting for 15 years. Currently have it runnning, driving and stopping trouble free. Parts are plentiful, most of my brake and tune up parts came from the local Advance Auto Parts store. Mid America Motorworks is just one parts supplier I have found, parts are reasonably priced, and what I have ordered from them arrived rapidly.
