Recently my windows in my beetle stopped working. The windows will not roll up or down with the driver side or passenger switches, when you turn the lights on the lights come on on the switches (i was told that if the lights didnt come on the switches were bad..?..) The windows both stopped working at the same time, up until then we had not had any problems with either window.

I am able to roll the windows up and down with the key on the door. I was told to have it checked out with one of the meters to get an error code for it and when checked there are no error codes.

I would really appreciate some help or input on this, i have not been able to find anything on the web that has helped yet. Whats throwing me off is that i can still roll the windows up and down with the key....?
