I'm a new VW owner (2008 passat turbo) and in the manual it said you could roll the windows up and down with the key remote, however mine doesn't do it. is this because my car is not capable of it, or is it something i need to set up in the convenience features?

 

I'm not 100% on this. But I believe it is saying that you should be able put the key in the driver's side door turn forward and the windows will come down and turn aft and they'll go up and lock the doors. Try that and see what happens, perhaps the sales guy didn't fully explain that feature.
