First check engine light came on and codes were pulled indicating need for new auxilliary water pump and thermostat. Car ran fine, but would eventually the ac would start to run warm, and the fans would come on, and the temp light would blink red. But, it wasn't overheating because the hoses were warm, and nothing was spewing. Water pump was replaced, thermostat checked, lines, hoses, etc. all checked out. Several sensors were replaced, all to no avail. Car still runs fun, then ac blows warm, fans kick on, and light starts to blink. HELP!!!!!

 

Hi all,
I'm replacing the water pump on my 2001 beetle 2.0. I have it all torn apart and I am ready to to remove the timing belt. I want to make sure I do this correctly so I have some questions. I need to know if it's ok too go ahead and mark the timing position know since it's in timing already. Or is it better that I turn the engine and align to the No. 1 cylinder ? I'm thinking either way is good as long as I don't move it. Which I'm confident I will not. I don"t know let me know anyone.
