'99 Beetle...engine overheating issue. PLEASE HELP!
A few days ago, there was minor flooding in my area due to the rainstorms. I went through a few, not that high (but maybe too high for a beetle), small flood puddles. Almost immediately afterwards, I noticed that my engine started smoking (I'm guessing from condensation from the water touching the hot engine from underneath) and then about 10 min later my temperature light came on and started beeping and my engine started shutting down (I guess from engine overheat).
I let my '99 Beetle sit for two days without even turning it on. Today, I went out to see if the car would be better and almost immediately after turning on, the temperature light came on again and started beeping so I turned the car off.
What could be the problem? SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!
