daughter saved and just bought dream car 110,000 mls but airbag light was on took to main vw dealer who said drive side ignitor bad $730 after reading forums I checked under driver seat and found yellow wire severed how can the dealer determine the ignitor is bad with the seat wire broken are we getting ripped off ? I have not booked in yet for this work .
can I just repair the wire myself without setting off the airbag .
will this put the light out ?
any help / suggestions welcome or info on an indipendant mechanic in Detroit area that works on VW airbags
