Default best bang for your buck on suspension?

i have a 01 gti vr6 aem cai milltek headers/exhaust i want to inprove suspension/handling. i wont be autocrossing this car but i do occasionally do some spirited driving.........i also don't want to drop the car all that much keeping stock 17' rim size. any thoughts?

You can go as easy as finding a set of Eibach (or equivalent) sport springs that will only drop you about an inch or so, and you'll notice a lot nicer time getting onto the on-ramps and being able to hit those corners alot more aggressively. It's a nice, and very cheap upgrade without sacrificing alot of ride quality. You should be able to find some springs, and with labor costs to install spend less than $200 bucks.
