I just recently purchased an 83 VW Rabbit Convertible. I've been surfing the net looking for more information on this cool little car and what I can do to it to make it even cooler. Unfortunately I don't know the lingo to get around.

Rabbit info is hard to come by. Hopefully I can find what I'm looking for here

Hey welcome to the forum!

My step-father had a Rabbit for a while that he had a little fun with so if you have any questions I should be able to get you some answers, as well as help from our other members. Congrats, nice find!

Thanks for the offers to help guys.

I guess my first question is how do I tell if my Rabbit is a Wolfburg edition?

I only ask this question because I was researching VW Rabbits on the internet trying to locate stock interior and I found a web site that shows photos of stock interiors for all years and the only colors that they were showing for the 83 Rabbit Convertible in Leather (which mine is combination leather and cloth) was black, brown, ember, royal blue, aubergine, and beige. My interior is white, so I scrolled down to the Wolfsburg Edition Rabbits and the only color listed for 1983 was white... and the photo looks exactly like what I've got in my Rabbit.

There are 4 logos on my Rabbit. 1 on each side of the car saying Karmann. 2 on the trunk lid, one says Volkswagen and the other says Rabbit Fuel Injected. And last but not least, the standard VW emblem on the grill.

Any help? You guys seem pretty friendly. I think I'm gonna like it here. I've got a lot to learn.

Never mind the above question.

I did a little VIN # research and learned that my Rabbit is not a Wolfsburg Edition. It was assembled at the Osnabruck plant, not the Wolfsburg plant.... and I assume that is what a Wolfsburg edition vehicle means.

Thanks anyway.
