From Texas, owner of a 1963 Beetle. I have R/R the fuse box. Though I have a wiring fuse diagram, the
wires are all one color "frayed black". This is not the
picture of what I have, but is very close to it. I just joined
the forum…I will post my own pics soon. Back windows
are split-type metal not fiberglass & the front signal lights
are "bullet style"….go figure !
Anyway the price was ridiculously right , drives great &
is good on the wallet when it comes to gas.
Cheers !
Joe

What do you mean by I have R/R the fuse box?

If the wire colours are all black then they normally have a numbered ring around the wire insulation to identify them. Other than that its a good digital multimeter and a long test wire to find where they all goto.

Normally they would have a numbered code id back then,
but not now. So I replaced the worn out fuse box & for now I will
probably need a good meter to determine where each wire goes.
Not all the old wires were connected. A new wiring kit is most
likely what I'll be doing eventually. Thanks for the input.
Joe.

Welcome Joe, I'm also a new member to this forum. I've been wanting to restore an older (60's-70's) model Volkswagen for some time now, and figured this would be a great place to learn the ropes and get some good ideas. I'll be looking for your pictures in the near future!
