Hi my name is Matt and I'm an al....... OOps wrong group. Just kidding. Anyway I sold my 97 jetta not too long ago and am back looking to get another VW. I really like the new GTIs but cost might put me back into a Jetta. Right now looking to see whats out there less than 10 years old and what others are saying about their cars. Anyway just saying hi.

I am definitely considering the TDIs. I have my eye on a TDI golf right now. I like the hatch for it's versatility but I'm not sure about how the Golfs compare to the Jettas for interior space. I see that most of the newer jettas have gotten away from the 2.0 liters. The replacement engines don't to seem to have quite as good economy. Perhaps I am wrong.

Have a read of the buyers guides and the problems each model has?
