Default Hi, and help.

I have a 1973 superbeetle. She has been running well but last I checked the be valves there was no more adjustment room left so I ordered new valves to replace them. However I cannot get the heads off because I cannot get the fan housing out. I am stuck at the point where I am supposed to be able to take off the thermostat which appears to be missing. When I eventually get this sorted out I intend to take picture to label parts as visible and where they are hiding so others in my predicament do not get stuck like this.

Welcome to the forum.

Its nice to see you made an intro on your own.

You have made 2 threads with the same question with an extra picture in the other one.

Its been along time since I worked on air cooled VW engines. The thermostat is needed to control the air flow for cooling.

Please tell us your car spec in your signature
