Default 1999 Cabrio

Hi - I just bought a 1999 VW Cabrio for my daughter's first car. It's a dual purpose car as I've always wanted a convertable and I have always admired VW! Looking forward to learning more about these vehicles and maybe some tech questions can be answered!

Taylor,
Howdy. I also have a '99 Cabrio. Maybe we could lean on each other and learn together. Right now my problem is with the convertable top. It's stopped working. I noticed that the oil reservoir was low, so I topped it off. After that, the top worked a total of 3 times before it quit again. Checked the fluid and it was down again. It's obvious that I have a leak in the sysem somewhere. I currently have the trunk stripped down to the metal, and looks as if the rear passenger's seat along with seat belts as well as the interior side panels (along with the speakers) is going to have to come out before I can trace the lines and ascertain just where in the system is the culprit leak. Heading down to the dealership to inquire about replacing the three hoses. Knowing VW, it won't be cheap.
