Default question about 2275cc engine

I was wondering if a 2275cc vw engine would be reliable for street use on a sand rail? I plan on driving it on weekends and to work ocaisionally when weather permits didnt know if the engine would be to radical. The engine was proffesionally built and has dual 44 weber carbs. Thank you for your help.

they run on the hot side from the pistons being so much closer together
you could turn the timing down a little to help it run cooler
