Default Need help, 2000 New Beetle acceleration squeal

I have a 2000 New Beetle 1.8L turbo and when I accelerate quickly there is a loud squeal. There is a release of pressure as well that can be felt on the drivers side gas pedal when the sound occurs (so I'm assuming it's a problem with a vacuum hose that has come loose or cracked. Has anyone had this problem or can anyone tell me what might be causing this noise? It has been mis-diagnosed twice by mechanics so I'm just looking for other possibilities. Thanks.
