Default Navigation Updated 2012 CC with RNS 510

Need to do Navigation update as went on trip this week to Ohio and found that maps are seriously out of date. So with that said, have 2 questions. 1. Is Volkswagen my only purchase choice for the DVD? (I see that the update disc is $124). 2. Is this a straight forward process such as insert the disc and follow the prompts on the screen, or do I need and Engineering degree to complete the update?

Sat/nav updates are available at a dealer but they aren't cheap. You can Google them?

Will do. Is the process straight forward, i.e. insert disc and follow instructions, etc? How long does the update typically take? Thanks for the quick response.

I don't have sat/nav but I've read many reports you just insert the CD and follow the instructions.

Depending on how old your RNS 510 is later model have the sat/nav info on an SD card. You download the update and put it on the SD card, job done.

I updated my RCD310 from a good site online. I put it on a flash drive formatted FAT32 and it did it automatically.
