(1999 Passat) I just got a new alpine deck. I got a wiring harness and taped the wires together and double checked them. However, when I hooked it up I received no sound at all. I tried to see if I would get sound with a cd but I still got no sound (i also made sure the mute was off on the deck).

Prior History: When I purchased car it came with the stock deck. Then a few months later I purchase and alpine deck at best buy which was installed by them. Then that alpine deck got stolen over the summer. I put the stock deck back it and it work except for the fact it didnt pick up all the radio stations. Then I got this new alpine deck and I am getting no sound.

Anyone know what the problem may be / or what should I do.
