Default Golf '07 Tire size

I am currently using 15", but would like to move up to 17". will I have any issues with that? i.e. i heard that the bigger the wheels are the more gas it will use, also heard that car will shake when driving. can someone please give me some insight about these issues?

thanks

Changing from 15" to 17" wheels should make alot of difference to the rolling circumference of the tyre as you will find that the aspect ratio will be different on the tyres.

There are some good sides and at the same time it has also bad side. By changing the tire size to 17'', you are agreeing to change the centre of gravity and performance of the car at high speed. Secondly low gas mileage as you said and changes in the suspension characteristic. Apart from that higher and superior traction at the high speed is the only advantage that you gained through this change.
