Default Door/Lights Chime no longer working

I have a 2001 VW New Beetle and recently the car no longer chimes when the keys are left in the ignition or the lights are left on. I was hoping it was just the fuse but I cannot seem to find which one it would be. I found the fuse chart here but there is no mention of anything that sounds right. Any ideas? Is this just a fuse or do you think its the chime itself?

well if its something like the fuse, I'd like to change that myself instead of paying someone a ton of money to replace a 50cent fuse. If its something else, I'll get it looked at. I was just hoping someone could save me the trouble and let me know if the fuse sounds probable and which fuse it would be. I had an older Blazer where the same thing happened and it was just a fuse so that's why I suspect it with the Beetle. I just don't know which fuse it would be.

This may seem odd but, I am 99% sure it is the light switch.

hmmmm...I never thought about it. What makes you think that? Similar experience? Also, would that still effect the chime that goes off when the keys are left in the ignition, because that doesn't go off either?

Yes, a lot of things run through the headlight switch. My friends Jetta had very similar things happening. Switches aren't very expensive anyway. Go to ecstuning.com

You don't happen to remember what fuse it was they replaced do you? I just don't know which one covers that since its not specifically listed in the key.
