2000 Golf TDI. I had a new back up key made 5/1/13 at a locksmith. I only need it to open the doors manually and start the car. He cut the key and then reprogramed both my keys to the cars immobilizer code so they would both work. As it turns out the keys both work fine but my auto transmission will not shift out of third gear(limp mode) is my computer fried? Any answers,suggestions. I really cannot prove that it worked fine (transmission)before he reprogramed my keys.
