Compatible models to GTi?
My son wrecked his 2002 GTi (1.8Turbo). The damage is to the front end and the air bags deployed, but the engine survived. I'm looking for a suitable VW that can make use of the engine and drivetrain (and possibly the interior which is in good shape). In other words, try to find a trashed donor vehicle with good "bones"...good sheet metal, chassis, glass, dash, etc., where the good engine and tranny and interior could be swapped into the donor vehicle to make a good car after combining the two. Obviously a GTi would be suitable (what years, however), but what about others, such as Jetta, Golf...and what others?
