2006 jetta TDI stalls when A/C on

2006 jetta TDI stalls when A/C on
the car runs fine without the air on but when i turn the A/C on it will sometimes stall when i slow down to stop. I have to say i have 2 extra batteries in the trunk, also it is a manual and it idles around 800. any help would be appreciated.
