Question 2001 Cabrio GLX - 4 way Flasher Clicks

I have replaced the 4 way flasher switch on dashboard, replaced the 4 way Relay by steering column and even replaced the turn signal switch on the column. As soon as I turn on the key ,and when vehicle is running.. the relay starts clicking I can feel the relay and hear it. The 4 way flashers work when depress button on dash. red light blinks on dash same tempo as relay clicking .. Turn signals work as normal, all the bulbs are good. Marker lights work. Turn key off, flasher relay stops clicking .
Any one have any ideas . I am at wits end, everything is replaced.
New to VW's and to this Forum . Any help would be appreciated
thank you in advance..!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. ! I can not believe that a can of electronic cleaner sprayed into the turn signal switch would remedy that problem.
I sprayed half a can into the switch while moving turn signal switch up and down(turn signal) and forward and back(high and low beam)
wiped over spray off where ever it splashed. waited about 5 minutes for the residue to evaporate. Low and Behold - NO MORE CLICKING , unless I use my Blinker or Flasher..
I can not express my thanks sufficiently for your help....!
