hi people new to here and really need some help
i have a sharan 1.9tdi and it is failing to start or starts and cuts out
i have narrowed it down (sort of) when i turn the key on if the glow plug light does not come on it will not start it turns over and sends fuel to injectors so i know its not the cut out solenoid
when driving it just cuts out (electrical fault) not fuel starved changed filter anyway
then after wait 5 mins for it to start
its all down to the heater plug light when i turn key on if it does not come on it will not start, when it does come on the fuel pump also clicks

i am baffled please please help

 

hi there i have the same problem on my vw transporter 2.5tdi i can get it to start if i put a wire from the positive on the battery to the 8mm nut on the solenoid, it then puts the glow plug light back on the dash when ignition is on.its intermitant some days i can go for 50+ miles then others it wont even start! unless i connect the wire. but if u do this temp mod remember to disconnect over night otherwise u will have a flat battery!

 

Mine turned out to be the fuel solenoid £10 fixed, hope you sort yours
