I am not mechanically inclined and therefore need help from someone!!!


I recently purchased a 1984 VW Caddy 1300, that was beautifully restored.


I have one problem.......the reverse lights are not working!!!


It seems that a rather new gearbox was installed with the original motor. I am looking for the reverse light switch and came across this part:



It goes on top of the gearbox.




Could this be the reverse light switch? Or is it something else???

I wouldn't think so as I think its a 2 pin switch.

Switch for reversing light - 020 945 415 A - £15
Flat contact housing with gasket - 357 972 752 - £8.62
1 set single wires each with 2 contacts (in bag of 5, order quantity 5 - 000 979 133 - £2.58
Was dropped on 01/08/2009 for 000 979 133 X - £3.35
