2004 Touareg V10 TDi turbo charger problem
I have had the Touareg V10 TDi since 2004. I have had several problems with it but the VW dealer were always very helpful and the parts were always covered under warranty, so I never had to pay so it did not bother me beyond not having a car every now and then.
However, in time I realised that the problems were adding up;
1. The gearbox was changed, it took months to receive a new one
2. Differentiator changed
3. Fuel pump changed
4. Shaft broke and needed changing
5. and not the Turbo charger
and not they are asking me for EURO 10,000 (US$ 15,000 approx) to change the Turbo Chargers. It felt one too many problems from a car that has only been services by VW, has never done any strenuous driving and only has 120,000km (80,000miles).
I was wondering if someone could offer an opinion on this situation? Have you had similar problems? Or are these normal?
Thanks,
D

Touareg V10 2004
I am experiencing similar problems as well. Recently my vehicle is in the garage waiting for a new ordered Turbo Charger. I assume that these are chronic problems inherited from the VW factory.
When did you change the gearbox? What was your complain? I might have to change it as well..
Cheers

Hi
I have experienced all the same problems. I tracked it down to bad diesel fuel, specfically Diesel no. 2 which had ethonal blended to the fuel B10. Completely drained the tank and replaced with Diesel no 2 only no ethonal B10 blend. It fixed all my issues.
