Default Vw polo bluemotion 2011-new owner-1st post

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum, and look forward to getting to know some of you.

I have driven Toyota most of my life, due to a recent non fault accident in my Toyota Aygo which was sadly written off, i fell in love with a 2011 VW Polo 1.2 diesel, admittedly it was an impulse buy, its a 5dr in silver with 120k on the clock, my 1st high miler purchase but has a full service history with 3 owners if I am not mistaken. I have had her for 2 months now. So far so good, achieved nearly 400 miles on my 1st full tank. My only issues so far is that I've noticed a strange noise when breaking, been told it maybe due to warped break discs although we're replaced recently according to its history, and yesterday noticed an oil leak on my drive! Yet to investigate that!

I understand that it's a bit late to be asking, but I wanted to know how reliable these vehicles are? Are there any common issues etc?

I am hoping she'll serve me well until 200k, I love the look of the car aswell as the cabin feel, yes they're a bit sluggish but i purchased her for fuel economy and that free road tax!

My other half decided to invest in the same vehicle but a 3dr version in the same year and mileage only his has 8 owners but a good service history. His is still on the drive awaiting a diy service and clean up when he gets time. Its a bit of a project car for him.

I look forward to reading some comments from you guys.

Cheers,
Sammy

Default Anybody?

Hi All
I hoped to have received some responses to my thread.
If anybody has time I'd greatly appreciate it.
I've noticed an oil leak on my drive recently. If anybody could advise me where to look.
And my service indicator spanner light came on yesterday. I doubt very much the car dealer serviced the vehicle as advised at purchase a few months ago.
Finally I noticed my exhaust light come on but soon went off. I think it was performing a regen. The vehicle drove a bit rough and the temp went up to 18 degrees. The auto stop failed to kick in. Is this normal?

Sammy
