Hi I have a 1.0 litre polo (1999) model and I try to start the ignition but all the interior lights come on and the dash lights but the engine does not turn, it doesnt even make a noise. But as I had it towed home I cheekly tried to start the car and it came to life and I was able to drive home. As soon as i came home i tried to re-start the car and again i had the same problem, so i thought it may be the battery. As a final resort i tried jump leads and starting the car this way but this also did not turn the engine. So what could be the problem

I have the exact same problem. Have you managed to fix this? is there some kind of work around?

VW Polo will not turn over. All of a sudden 1 day will not start when the key is turned. All lights come on, will not start with jump leads. Turn the ignition and with the bonnet open i can hear a buzz for 2 seconds then a click and nothing. Car starts fine with a bump start.
