There is a problem with my 2003 model Polo SE and I hope someone can help me.

It has a problem where it loses revs momentarily. It seems to happen no matter what speed I am doing - the revs drop for a second down to about 1000 then it goes back up to where it was. If I am not going very fast i.e. coming to a stop or at idle the car stalls and I am able to restart it again. It does this usually once a day, sometimes more but can go up to a week running fine before it stalls again.

I don't know if it's a related problem but twice the automatic transmission has banged really hard through the gears(the revs went a lot higher than normal). After turning the car off and on it seems to fix the problem.

I took it to Volkswagen service and after hooking it up to a diagnostic machine they couldn't find anything wrong with it. The mechanic cleaned the throttle body but it hasn't done any good.

I hope someone can help me out.
