Hello

I have a VW Polo, and had left the lighter charger socket uncharged. A few days back a 5 pence coin fell into the charger(i guess it shorted the charger), i removed it with some difficulty and now the charger socket does not seem to work, i have tried to charge my tom tom navigator using the socket and that does not work.

do you think that there is a small resistive fuse which has gone or the whole lighter charger needs to be replaced. should i get it done at the local garagae or do i need to take it into an authorised dealer?
