i just bought a 96 polo I did not know the key was chipped and had another cut, I then tried to start the engine with ne new un chipped key now the nothing works except the alarm I have disconnected the battery. There was a strange code came up on the dash no u2 can anyone tell me if it is possible to reset the brain or what ever it is so I can use my car again.

Disconnect the battery cables and hold them together for a couple of minutes.
