Default Drivers side electric window.

Hi everyone, I would really appreciate some help with a problem im having with my drivers side electric window. I have a VW Polo 1.4 TDI X reg 2000, for the last month the drivers side electric window has been working on and off, yesterday it stopped working all together. Ive checked the connections and cant find a problem, the passenger side window works as does the central locking, I have also taken off the door panel and tried to check the motor but cant find a problem ... what could the problem be? is it the fuse in the switch? what is the best way to fix this problem?

Would really appreciate some feed back .

Thanks .

I was at USA Windshield and Glass today getting a windshield ding fixed and I asked about my drivers side window making some noise when raising and lowering. He answered saying there are four components to electrical window operations; scissor or cable mechanicals that actually raise/lower the glass, plastic clips (VW) that hold the glass to the mechanicals, the power source (motor), and the switch that activates the motor. A quick call to the local full service automotive glass shop will answer the question regarding the possibility of a fuse at the switch. If there is no fuse at the switch, as I suspect, then it's either the motor or the switch. To check the switch, use a jumper to connect the two poles on the switch. If the motor cranks the window, it's the switch.
