can any body tell me what the metal box controls in under the drivers wing looks like wire disappear into the back of the dash on a 2012 passat

 

after a woman ran into my car I removed the drivers wing remove squashed washer bottle and had to hammer to area to put back to shape .don't know how but now I put foot on clutch push key in no cranking every thing else works including ignition any body out there that could help!
