Default VW Fake Leather

Hello everyone. I am looking at used Passats & just discovered that the leather seats are actually "leatherette", essentially vinyl. Does anyone know what year VW stopped using real leather & started using the fake leather?
Thanks,
John

well i came to know this only from you , if this is true then it is really a cheap move from such a big company, i think may be the owner has changed them after the damage in the real ones, this could be a possibility.

Default VW Jetta interior........?

VW Jetta interior........?
I don't know if anyone reading this has the same car as mine but my interior door handles have some kind of "film" rubbing off...I'm not sure exactly what it's called, maybe like a fake leatherish something or other...I'm not sure. I scraped the rest of it off but now it just looks really cheap since it's just plastic underneath pretty much. My question is does anyone know of a place that could replace it or I could buy it and have someone do it for me? The interior is tan leather if that makes any difference...Any information would be great...thanks!

Default So VW is cruelty-free?

this is great news for animals and is exactly what I am shopping for: a cruelty-free car interior. Such good news! What an awesome company!

So this article says: "The base 2012 Passat S comes with cloth seats, but leatherette is standard on the more expensive SE. The top-of-the-line SEL has real leather."
