VW 2006 Passat A/C Problems
Hello,
We also are having major problems with our VW '06 Passat and our A/C has not worked in three summers. We bought it brand new in July '06 and by July '08 our A/C has not worked. VW dealer does not know why and we just had someone look at it and said it was the A/C Compressor and possibly a seal malfunction. Well, let us all band together and write to VW of America General Counsel and see if they will help all of us resolve this problem. It is obviously not an isolated case and I am sure the more people write in the more chances of them possibly helping us out. Please take five minutes of your time and write to:
David Geanacopooulos
General Counsel at Volkswagen of America, Inc
3800 Hamlin Road
Auburn Hills, MI 48326-2856
I have already written to them in regard to our A/C issue plus the check engine light being on for several years and no one can figure it out. Customer service actually called us back immediately and offered to either take it in to VW Dealer and they "might consider" fixing it or a voucher for a brand new VW. I truly believe if the general counsel receives enough letters from us, the consumers of these useless and full of trouble VW '06 Passat, they might recall them or take all of us more seriously and address our concerns.
Also write to:
Consumer Affairs Department

Suite 500
Hayward, CA 94541
and contact New Motor Vehicle Board and submit a complaint.
