Hi all what do you think about the 2008 passat LUX with the problem engine... chain tensioner and oil burning

 

Which engine petrol or TDI?

I just offered this guy 2k for a 2008 lux Passat ...115000 miles the tensioner needs replacing, has noise..

and it burns the 1qt per oil... owner wants more but who knows what else.... engine runs .. CA dmv tags expired January
