Replacement key and manual?
Just bought a 2016 Passat SE TSi for my son.
It came with one original key fob and the “spare” is a plastic key and an aftermarket remote clicker. If we get a regular key cut will it work or does it need a transponder? What’s the best way to get a replacement key?
Also didn’t come with a manual. They’re fairly pricey on eBay - any ideas on where to get one cheap?

You didn't say you had the plastic valet key which is generally for USA market. Please add your location to your profile?
You didn't say aftermarket remote clicker. When posting problems on a VW forum you post all details that you know about, it saves any confusion.
When you say manual are you taking about the drivers handbook or a workshop manual?
It should have come with the drivers handbook you can ask a dealer to order a new one.

Thanks Keith... I guess I got ahead of myself in my intro but I did say I'd ask my questions over here.
I have one original fob and the plastic valet key thing. USA spec car. There's a super-cheap looking aftermarket clicker that came with the plastic key.
I need a Driver's handbook. The car didn't come with it.
Was hoping that I didn't need to pay full retail for an extra key and the handbook...
I'm building up a picture in my mind of the previous owner: can't keep track of 2 keys, got a crappy key replacement, lost the driver's handbook, there's also a super-dark tint on all the side windows and the back, you can barely see out the back in full Texas sunshine, nevermind at night...
I did add my car details to my signature before posting - not sure why it didn't come through? Also added my location in the new member questionnaire but I see I needed to add it again in my profile; I've done that now.

Search fleabay for the drivers handbook. I misplaced my wallet with all the books. I bought a pack of fleabay £49 as mine in the GTD not the standard Mk6.
