Default questions on 03 passat

hello,

I just bought a 2003 1.8t passat with 61k miles.

questions:
1) brake lights. the top driver side light is lit and the passenger bottom light is lit. I would think that all 4 should light when the brakes are depressed.

2) remote. is there a way for me to change the battery on this? the owner's manual says to take it to a dealer to have this done.

3) headlights. the headlights area little fogged. I know when the car is new, the headlights are clear but in time, they start to cloud up. is there a way to get these back to clear.

4) I have to take the car back to the car lot to have them fixed the passenger side window motor. is there anything else that I should check before I take it back?

5) any other comments or information on this car would be helpful. the only other ve that I have owned was a 64 beetle.

thanks...

Yes, all light should come on when the brake is pedal is pressed. As for the remote you should be able to slide it apart or pop it open to reveal the battery and should be able to get one at a radio shack or batteries plus. I had the same issue with my headlights on my '02 and just to some light polishing compound and buferd them out them polished them. The only other thing I would have the dealer check is the transmission fluid and the coolant and oil. Also, the timing belt. These are not things you want to find out about after its too late, especially the oil and filter. Change it offtern and put quality product in it. Rember cheap now, exspensive later. Good luck
