Poor fuel econo 99 Passat Wagon 1.8

I have a problem with low miles to the gallon. Anything I should know to improve fuel economy?

Try zMax fuel system cleaner or if you can't find that, use Seafoam either one does a great job cleaning things up therefore, better fuel economy.
