Persistent overheating issues 2009 vw cc 2.0 4 cyl
I am troubleshooting a persistent overheating problem on my 2009 vw cc 2.0 4cyl tdi. The vehicle was overheating within a few minutes of driving around. So far i have replaced the water pump housing, (pump thermostat, sensor) and the engine coupling for the cabin heater hose. There are no visible leaks after installation (i burped the system by hand to fill coolant via the reservior). and the car runs but its still over heating.
When i changed the water pump, I checked the belt and its in good shape. I was able to turn the axle coming out of the engine block by hand. Is this my problem?
After reassembling everything, the waterpump isnt turning when the car is turned on and doesnt turn even when the car is hot at idle (190). I checked this by pulling the waterpump drive cover back a bit and running the engine.
