Default Passat Passenger-Side Chirping Sound

Hello,

I have a 2002 Passat with about 77,000 miles. Ever since I've owned it (about 3 years), there has occasionally been a chirping sound coming from underneath the glove compartment on the passenger side.

The sound is similar to that of a cricket chirping and it usually starts after driving for long distances (i usually hear it at the tail end of my 40 minute highway commute). The chirping is heard when making a left-hand turn and is never heard when making a right-hand turn.

The chirping sound seems to be related to the fan used for the heating/cooling system and if I turn the air off, if goes away.

My warranty is up and if I can resolve this issue myself I'd like to. If anybody has any insight into what may be causing this noise and whether or not itcould be a serious issue, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Locate your heater/ ac blower motor, remove it and take
a look. It could be just out of align and rubbing the housing
or cracked.
