Default Monsoon rear speakers are silent

I bought an 05 Passat GLS 1.8T and the rear speakers are not working. Is there an amp or fuse that is separate from the front speakers?
I just thought it's probably not the speakers themselves since that it would be unlikely to have both stop working. There is no signal to the rear at all when the fader **** is adjusted fully to the rear.
Thanks for any help.

Default try this

its most likely not the speakers, however what you can do to verify this for sure, is take a 9 volt battery, (even a 14 volt will work if your carefull) and connect the positive and negative leads of the speaker to it, it doesnt even have to line up just as long as its connected the speakers should POP... but as i said its most likely not the speakers you will likely find blown channels either in the head unit, OR theyre could possibly be an amp..if there is one it will be up underneatht he back deck of the car, under a seat, or in teh glovebox
