Hi,

I have a 97 passat and the phob works whenever it feels like it! Sometimes the phob light does not come on and then i have to take it apart, play with the battery and the light will come on but this does not mean that it works. it sometimes takes about 20 mins after repeatedly pressing the button until it works.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, wont to get it sorted but aware that a trip to the dealer may result in a big bill

I need to ask maybe an obvious question so we can rule it out and because it was not stated in the original post, but when you have had the fob apart in the past, have you ever replaced the battery?
