im looking into buying a passat. i was told that there is a problem with the pin holding the shifter linkage in. first is this an easy fix, and second could it be possable that there is a problem with the transmission? i don't want to by the car to find out i hae to replace the trans. its a 92cl with 160k thanks

 

no that is the problem. i just dont want it to be a transmission problem and that is just the tip of the iceberg for lack of better words

 

Buy it and fix it. It's not a big deal. Just buy a Chilton's manual and follow the steps.
