Has anyone encountered this? The heated seat (driver side) in my 2003 VW Passat 1.8T has had some sort of electrical short. It fried the coil, burned a hole in the leather seat and through a wool jacket I was wearing.

 

Same thing!! I had this to mine (03" 1.8T) while going to work, damn near burnt a hole in my a@#! Recall my friend, recall. That took care of the little problem.

 

Yea that's a go yell at the dealer and get your jacket reimbursed as well.
